This jump took place August 16, 1970 or 71. 10,000 people showed up to watch Evel jump. Evel explained to the crowd that he was going to attempt the jump with a broken collarbone. Evel jumped his American Eagle successfully over the vehicles, but lost control upon landing.

Evel suffered a cracked vertebrae, a broken right hand and a re-broken shoulder. He jumped again a few weeks later in New Jersey. (Photos by Richard Bordner)
